Our Characters

- Mallam Musa:

A typical Hausa man, full of energy, fearless, and very calculative. He is sometimes too risky and perspicacious (or quick-witted). He is willing to do anything to survive.

- Mazi Emeka:

Garbed in an isiagu and okpu agu(or okpu-ndichie). He is a wise and witty man with a clear understanding of the tricks of the jungle.
He’s determined to reach the end so he keeps pushing with vigor and fortitude.

- Chief Yomi:

Energetic and swift Baale of the Yoruba land. Sturdy and unyielding (or ardent) traditional man. He is conversant with the thick forest and will always resist the evil tricks of the chief priest.

- Mma Ekatte:

A woman with great strength who knows no bounds or limitations. She knows it’s a heinous task but she runs with great strength striving for survival. She knows where she’s going and she won’t blink an eye. She’s fierce, feisty, and bold.

- Jack AKA. (The slay King):

Determined and charming, stylish, and exceptional. Jack is always thinking of the next big thing to do, anticipating the next move to make. He’s reckless, optimistic, self-reliant, resilient, and a goal-getter.

- Sonai AKA. (The slay Queen):

A special breed, elegant and gorgeous. She’s brainy and highly skillful. She’s a team player known for what she does and how she does it. She’s infallible, indefatigable, and yearns for survival.

- Chief Priest AKA. (Babalowo):

The masterpiece of the oral and intangible heritage of humanity, a fierce striker. He utilizes the power of invocation and evocation of spiritual forces to affect the expression of phenomena. He chases the village people and pushes them for survival. He uses old diabolic magical powers to pursue the villagers

- Chief Priestess AKA. (Mamalowo):

Mother of the mysteries. The powerful and wicked deity. People are awed at her evil forces, she goes around the village chasing villagers and manifesting her evil prowess. She’s resolute in her hunt and uses even her staff to strike people running from her

Objects / Boosters and Functionalities:
ARICA STAR APPLE (Asa):
Africa Star Apple is a bright orange fruit that has got 4 to 5 seeds. It is a native fruit of West Africa and it’s particularly prolific in Nigeria. . It also has so many health benefits, and has very high vitamin C content. It is called Udala in Igbo, Agbaluma in Yoruba, and Agwaluma in Hausa.
Functionality in Game: ASA represents a coin in VPS and is the second currency of the game. ASA can be obtained in two different ways, collect them either during the gameplay or purchase them in the Shop (up to 1.5Million ASA for N10,000). Obtaining them from friends (up to 25 runs) Connecting to Facebook (5K ASA) can also be used to upgrade and buy power-ups and skip missions.
CALABASH:
It’s an object made from the fruit of a gourd plant. The husk is hollowed out, dried, and hardened and can be used for many purposes. It is called igba in Yoruba, kwarya in Hausa, and ebele in Igbo.
Functionality in Game: Calabash is a power-up in VPS, it can be obtained during the gameplay. When picked up, the score multiplier is doubled, allowing the player to get twice the amount of points in a specific period. Like every other, the calabash duration can be extended for a longer duration of time up to 15secs for 24,000 ASA, which means you can gain more scores. So, if the score calabash is X5, it will be X10 when the power-up is picked up. It has the appearance of a violet star with 'x5' written on it.
FEATHER:
A feather is one of the soft, fringed plumes that cover the bodies of birds. The birds use the feathers to fly from one place to another. It is called Nku in Igbo, Gashin in Hausa, Iye in Yoruba.
Functionality in Game: Feather is a power-up in VPS, it can be obtained during the gameplay. When picked up, the character automatically collects every ASA in their current running path, even if the ASA is not in that path. Like every other power-up, the power-update duration can be extended for a longer duration of time up to 15secs for 24,000 ASA, which means you can collect more ASA. This is the ideal power-up if they want to get much ASA very rapidly.
PHOENIX FEATHER:
Phoenix feathers are feathers shed by phoenixes primarily gathered and used in wand making. Phoenix feathers are capable of the greatest range of magic.
Functionality in Game: Phoenix Feather is an enhanced version of the feather power-up (BLUE). Can be bought in the shop (at 2,500 ASA) or gotten as rewards from the weekly event or high score rewards. An option to be used will be available 5 seconds from start and will deactivate once 5 seconds are elapsed. It should run about 1000meters from the start into the level. Speed and score multiplier should double while in effect. Once finished, the player is immune for 5 secs.
COCONUT:
Coconut is a drupaceous fruit of the coconut palm whose outer fibrous is hard and whose nut contains thick meat. . It is called kwakwa in Hausa, Aku oyibo in Igbo, and agbon in Yoruba.
Functionality in Game: Runner uses the acquired coconut to shoot at the monkey running towards their direction, they fall, the runner continues running. The Coconuts can be bought in the shop (at 400 ASA) picked up during the gameplay.
BROOMSTICK:
A broomstick is an old-fashioned broom that has a bunch of small sticks at the end. The word ‘broom’ derives from the name of certain thorny shrubs used for sweeping. It is called Mkpisi Aziza in Igbo, Tsintsiya in Hausa, and Opa Igbo in Yoruba.
Functionality in Game: A flying power-up in VPS can be obtained during the gameplay. When collected, the character goes flying into the air and is invincible to everything. The player can also stack up on coins that are up in the sky. Like every other, the broomstick can be extended for a longer duration of time up to 10secs for 24,000 ASA, which means you can collect more ASA.
DIVINE BROOMSTICK:
A divine broomstick is said to be an enhanced broomstick given to one from the god’s, it means that the broomstick is holy or sacred. It is called Mkpisi Azizi Chuwu in Igbo, Allahntaka Tsintsiya in Hausa, and Ibawi opa’igbo in Yoruba.
Functionality in Game: An enhanced version of the broomstick power up. , it can be bought in the shop (at 3,000 ASA) or gotten as rewards from the weekly event or high score rewards. An option to be used will be available 5 seconds from start and will deactivate. Once 5 seconds, should be activated from the start and run about 1000meters from the start into the level leaving a magical trail behind. Speed and score multiplier should double while in effect. Once finished, the player is immune for 5 seconds.
COWRY:
Cowry is a marine mollusk that has a glossy, domed shell with a long opening, typically brightly patterned and popular with collectors. It is also the flattered shell of the money cowries, formerly used as money in parts of Africa the Indo-pacific area. It is called Ochi in Igbo, Saniya in Hausa, and Ologbo, in Yoruba.
Functionality in Game: Cowry represents a currency in VPS, it is the primary currency of the game used to buy ASA and Osusu (packs). Cowry can only be bought with real money via Google or Apple Pay from the store. It is sometimes given as a weekly reward when players reach a particular milestone of achievement.
SUPER SANDALS:
A light shoe with an open work wrap attaching the sole to the foot. It’s also a light shoe especially worn in warm weather, consisting of a bottom part held onto the foot by straps. It is called Akpukpo ukwu in Igbo, Bata in Yoruba, and ta Kalami in Hausa.
Functionality in Game: The super sandal is a power-up in VPS, it can be obtained during the gameplay. When collected, the player wears them and starts bouncing high in every step. The player can now jump over obstacles they would usually have to roll under to dodge (i.e. Tallest Barriers). the super sandals duration can be extended for a longer duration of time up to 15secs for 24,000 ASA, which means you can gain more scores. The bottom of the shoes can collect coins under them just like a magnet, allowing the player to collect coins under them (in the lane they are on only) without even touching them, they will also be able to collect other power-ups when under those shoes.
GROUNDNUT PEEL:
The groundnut peel is said to be like a protective shell to the main groundnut. . It is rich in many functional compounds and can be utilized in multiple ways. It is called Bee ala in Igbo, Baya gyada in Hausa, and Ero irugbin in Yoruba.
Functionality in Game: To protects the player from crashing for 30 seconds. When crashed, the Groundnut Peal will explode, cleans the area (the area where you crashed), and need to recharge for a few seconds before being used again. The ground peel can be bought in the shop (at 400 ASA) picked up during the gameplay.
FURA (COW MILK)
It is a locally made drink prepared from a combination of fermented cow milk and ground millet grains. It is an indigenous food popular amongst the Hausa /Fulani region of West Africa. it’s called Fura da Nono in Hausa.
Functionality in Game: When acquired during gameplay, while running, the player’s agility will be boosted against the chasers and obstacles.
OSUSU:
It describes traditional forms of cooperation in African society whereby groups of individuals contribute to informal savings and credit associations for their mutual benefit. It is known as esusu or esu in Yoruba in south-western Nigeria, etoto by the Igbos in south-eastern Nigeria, and adashi by the Hausa people in northern Nigeria
Functionality in Game: The look of special packs, be it daily rewards or for purchase. It should like the Nigerian style of piggy bank. Each Osusu has varying contents to add to your list of acquiring assets when purchased or collected as a reward, the song “thank you for saving me” can be played occasionally when this is opened or purchased by the player.
